Interesting, couple of days ago I was working on the Family Trail and there were two persons (gweilo man + Asian woman) strolling around and asking tourists if they have seen any stray dogs on Lamma and how long they stay on the island. The tourists said that of course they didn't. They didn't ask me though.

Is this somehow related to that consultation?

The gweilo was me. You must have been the man sitting on the bench with his laptop. I was with an RTHK TV crew who are doing a programme on the feral dogs (I think it will be broadcast on TVB Pearl on 27th, 28th January). The interesting and worrying thing that came out of the day was that two of our Lamma District Councillors told the interviewer that they were opposed to TNR. Without their support, AFCD will not allow TNR to go ahead and the hill dog problem will not be solved. Does anyone know how to convince Ms Yu and Mr Chan that this TNR trial should be allowed?

Two District Councilors are opposed, what about the 3rd one?
Which one might be ready to listen and maybe influence the other two to change their minds?

There are three District Councilors on Lamma, 2 of them ex-officio members, not elected but appointed by Govt. because they're also Chairmen of their Rural Committees.
The 3rd, least-known one is "Mr CHOW Yuk-tong, BBS, MH" of South Lamma, also a DAB member:
http://www.districtcouncils.gov.hk/island/en/2012_2015/member_details.html

I've met him only on a few official functions, usually in South Lamma, but I haven't interviewed him yet. Last spotted doing Lucky Draws at the King Wong Annual Dinner in Rainbow Rest, see below.
It would be interesting to get his opinion on TNR and other local matters as he's the most powerful politician in South Lamma.

Although Lamma has been selected to be one of 3 trial points for TNR, we still need to have the Islands District Council’s consent. We call upon all fellow Lamma residents and animal lovers: Please sign the petition to support the TNR trial on Lamma. We need to tell our district representative that we support TNR trials on Lamma Island. TNR is a programme that has been fought for by local animal welfare organizations for many years. We need your help to make this happen.

We are asking for residents of Lamma only for this petition, as we need to show the District Council that there is local consent and support. Please help by:
1. Coming to the LAWC Centre to sign the petition this weekend, and if you can,
2. Take some petition form from us and ask your neighbours and friends on Lamma to sign.

Thank you very much!
