Sirs - This respectable forum has been debating the issue of Dogs lately, particularly poisoning, dog Shit and leashes.

May I humbly suggest a simple and elegant solution to the problem:

Buy a large pack of harmless Sausages. Throw them around the island near roads, to be easily noticeable and eatable by Dogs. Do not add any poison. Repeat as often as necessary.

With this low-cost, win-win solution:
- Dogs are happy to get a treat. No dogs die.
- The Shit is scared out of dog owners to a desirable extent, as a punishment for ignorance;
- The Public benefits from improved safety, sanitation and reduced costs.

I say the solution is truly a life-saviour.

Stupid idea.

How will owners know which 'sausages' are safe to eat for their dogs?

Spring is coming, meat goes bad. Not good. Decomposing meat on the paths. Some 'copy cat poisoners' could just poison the sausages.

it's littering and attracting vermin.

As well as that, you will have dogs constantly sniffing the path for food.... And Very stressed out dog owners....

A dog that vomits nowadays on Lamma, puts an owner into a very stressed out situation.

I've been there. My dog was vomiting after eating a cookie on the path, and he was on a leash. 36 hours of being a very stressed owner, using activated charcoal, and hoping it was nothing. Same as many other owners. We are already paranoid enough, and you are suggesting putting food down on the paths??

Stupid idea.
