Email from an upset parent the other day:
"I've just called the police again as the school continue burning after their visit just after 2 pm. Air really bad - police going up again.
Don't know if this is a story or not but I noticed quite a bit of smoke coming from the primary school today, so I called the police to investigate - it's so dry that I was worried about it spreading. The police said it was school workers burning grasses and that it was stopped. I went to sit in the Green Cottage and about an hour later I could smell it again.
I've just had a call from one of the parents at the school who says that she tried to get the school to stop but they went ahead and burnt all the trees! She said you can see it if you go up the back steps to the school. She was so pissed - didn't like the example the school was setting for environmental protection and she say her whole house smells of smoke."
