Copies of this informative A5-size, 8-page booklet are available outside the District Council office (next to Lamma Gourmet shop).

Check out all the development projects completed last year and planned for this year. Some might come as unexpected surprises:

Great how she takes credit for everything and shows up to get her photo taken.

I know for instance that the drainage outside Yan Yan was finally fixed after Living Lamma sent complaints to 1823.gov.hk. After more than 20 years of wading through the puddle, and YLF doing nothing, only then was it finally fixed.

Similarly all the routine roadworks she cites had nothing to do with her.

And redeveloping Pak Kok Pier?
Again? It's been rebuilt at least three times since I've been here. Really, why does this have to be done over and over and over and over? Either there is terrible incompetency in Civil Engineering and Development Department or it's just a boondoggle.

1. There is no mention of the Great Stairway from Lo Tik Wan to Snake Path. Surprisingly this tremendous achievement in unnecessary devastation of greenery and pouring concrete is not listed.

2. Apparently only around 6% of the population got the trouble to fill up the questionnaire – not really a support for any strategic decisions like reclamation or bicycle parking.

Well certainly makes for interesting reading. I'm sure to read it all again, come back to this website and get back on my soapbox :-)

I did laugh out loud regarding the 20 year puddle outside the Yan Yan store. Yes, Alan,.. we all sent emails for years and years. Can't believe the audacity of YLF sometimes.

As for the Tai Wan Old Village 'sitting out area'.... it really is terrible the way it was built. Doesn't seem to have been any thought to it. It's a big space covered in concrete. No landscaping, no plants, just a huge block of concrete with metal railings (although my neighbour has been slowly planting flowers, so I'm sure it will be pretty in summer, but wasn't anything to do with YLF.)

Also, on the left of the concrete area, there are lovely big trees that give a great shade. Of course the builders put the benches on the opposite side, out in direct light, so basically you have no shelter from the sun or the rain. Bit daft really. Never seen anyone sitting out there.

And when I think of Tai Wan To being taken over and making a promenade and facilities to improve things for tourists.....I heaved a heavy sigh. our local beach for local families and pet owners will be gone. It will become a gazetted beach.... no dogs, no kites, no volleyball, no BBQ's, no parties, no 'unique, interesting community beach, no form of any kind of fun. Want to cry now.
