Submitted by the Rural Committee, including links for the attractions.

This extremely low-cost tour ($80 for the entire day, including transport, tour guide, tips and buffet lunch) is sponsored by Govt.
Tickets for these quite frequent tours usually sell out within days, but they still had tickets yesterday when we bought ours.
This tour is guided in Chinese, but translation can be provided whenever necessary.

"Our committee is arranging a one-day trip to:

Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence | 香港海防博物館

南蓮園池 NAN LIAN GARDEN

Lunch Buffet at Panda Hotel 悅來酒店

Shopping at MegaBox

If you would like to know more details, please see the attached poster (Chin. only).

Date : Saturday, February 11, 2012
8.40am ferry from YSW to Central.
Tour bus departs from Central Ferry Pier 4 at 9.15am on time:
$80 per head; buy ticket ASAP (first-come-first-served) at G/F Rural Committee Bldg. (opposite HSBC.)"

I have been to this museum and it is well worth a visit, provided you are reasonably mobile (there is a lot of walking). If you can't go on this trip, I would recommend a visit at some point anyway.

One of the best kept secrets amongst museums in HK actually. Enjoy! :D
