The second event ever in the new YSW Plaza, the covered area in-between the Gaido Pier and the future Police Station. Now that it'll be officially open, let's hope many people will ask the Rural Committee (G/F Rural Committee Bldg., just opposite HSBC) to make great use of this HK-Electric-donated community space!

Official invitation. I didn't get one, even though I mediated to get the place painted by some graffiti artists. {*Sniffle*} But I'll attend the ceremony anyway...

Hilarious illustration. Trees? Grass? Flowers? We don't have any of that icky dirty natural stuff on our reclamation. Also doesn't show the lovely decorative chain link fence. Here's a better idea of how it will look when uninvited scum try to get in.

Yes, I recognised you in the picture above, center left in the beackground, correct? I'm the guy in the front on the left, trying to keep you and other "uninvited scum" out! Lamma-Por and I are not directly invited, but today everybody is "Welcome to Join", till the ceremony is over and the tall wire fence will be locked up again shortly afterwards. |

Yesterday, YSW Plaza Opening Ceremony, just behind the Football Pitch. Now that it's officially open, it's time to start using this large covered space for community events. Contact the very nice and helpful Rural Committee office assistants on the G/F of the Rural Committee Building (opposite HSBC) how to get permission and learn their rules of using it for events and activities. It was promoted as an Activity Room for the Lamma community, donated most generously in full by HK Electric. It's not just for exclusive and very rare usage by the Rural and District Councils. Let's make great use of this large and wide open harbourfront space! P.S. Just in case you're wondering about how this "Yung Shue Wan Plaza" graffiti got up there under the rooftop and who painted it: Lamma-zine, Jan 29 2013: YSW Plaza

One more public event in the YSW Plaza this year, woohoo!! This looks very interesting... HARMONIOUS COMMUNITY! Kumbaya, kumbaya? (The last public event in the "public" YSW Plaza I know of, see above, took place last April 29.)

Free yearly Big Bowl Feast for all of Lamma's 65+ residents in the YSW Plaza at Lunar New Year; with free handouts of a bag of rice and other goodies afterwards.
