About MSF Orienteering CompetitionThe MSF Orienteering Competition has been the largest event of its kind in Hong Kong since it was launched in 2002. The competition provides an opportunity for participants to catch a glimpse of the challenges encountered by our field workers on the frontline. This year MSF OC 2016 was successfully held in Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung. Around 4,600 participants joined the competition, running over hills and valleys between control points, not only to raise over HKD 7.2 million to support MSF’s humanitarian work worldwide, but also to experience the challenges faced by front line field workers who deliver medical care in remote areas. More details can also be found on the event website
About MSFMédecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides crucial medical aid to populations in distress. Since its establishment in 1971, MSF has been committed to providing free emergency medical treatment for victims of wars, epidemics and natural disasters; and also to those excluded from healthcare (such as refugees and discriminated social groups). Examples of the services we provide include surgical care, primary healthcare, nutrition programs, emergency care, water and sanitation facility improvement, mental health care, rehabilitation of hospitals, and training."
