One of the major annual meteor showers is tonight, 13th Dec 2004.

From a local astronomical site:
According to the International Meteor Organization (IMO), the Maximum of Geminids is 14th December 2004 06:20 HKT. Geminids is one of the finest annual showers presently observable. This year, new Moon on 12 December gives perfect observing conditions across the expected maximum on 13-14 December. The peak has shown slight signs of variability in its maximum rates and peak timing in recent years, with the six most reliably observed maxima over the past 15 years having all occurred within 2h 20m of the time above.

Went out at 1:30 for a look, saw one meteor trail before it clouded over at 2.

I start observed from last Saturday. There're 2-3 mentors per hour for past few days. The maximum was last night which I could count 7 per hour.

The weather is not so good last night. High-level clouds reduce the chance to catch a not-so-bright mentor.

The maximum time should be at 6:20am today, which is too near the sunrise time so difficult to watch.

Took some pictures overnight, none of them could catch a single mentor. But still nice to share with others those lovely constellations in Winter - difficult to watch in city.
