The Lamma Fun Day will be happening again this year, after a break, on
Sat, Nov 24. The organisation committee will be meeting this Sunday, discussing the progress of the numerous tasks ahead to make it happen, especially attracting the large number of volunteers with many different skills required to make it successful. Any input from people reading this forum would be most appreciated.
I've just been informed that the dead Fun Day website will not be revived and the main promotion will be Facebook-only -
http://www.facebook.com/LammaFunDay2012 - plus any free publicity they can get from any media, including this website.
For public viewing, there are no stories and only
16 photos left from all former Fun Days, plus the dozens of stories and huge number of photos accessible in the "10-year archive" of Lamma's recent history, this website.
Your comments and ideas on how to make the Fun Day a great success for visitors and fundraisers alike, please post them here or in their Facebook "cause" page. Help them to increase their number of Friends beyond the currently 16 likes. They'll need at least hundreds or hopefully even thousands of likes and frequent updates to make it a great and successful Facebook event, attracting the crowds they're hoping for.
Event marketing on Facebook is an art and a science, from online PR, promotions, buzz-generation to visitor traffic metrics. It's also getting more and more difficult, demanding and time-consuming, as any Interactive Marketing Consultant, like myself, can tell you. Want to learn more or need some help? Contact me.
