I wanted to share a tech tip with you.

If you're a movie or tv fan and really want good quality sound to recreate that Cinema feeling BUT you don't want to pay a month's rent and/or you don't have much space to work with then allow me to recommend:

Sony HT-XT1 (as per the image below).

Excellent Soundbase - your TV goes on top - with subwoofers built in. It isn't a DVD player but a rectangular speaker.

It even handles the latest HD audio formats. All for HK$2k.

I don't work for Sony but take a look, you won't be disappointed.

Doesn't strike me as a good idea to sit a TV on top of a speaker, the vibration can't be good for it.

"Cinema feeling" sound... with a single speaker? Last time I checked it was kind of like 7+1 speakers or at least 5+1?

And none of these systems really compares to IMAX, Shaw Sound or Dolby THX... sound in our cinemas...
But this box reminds me a bit of the vibrating seats in some HK cinemas. Maybe put this below your TV couch cushion?
