Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the internet signal is like in Pak Kok? Comparable to YSW or weaker and slower? I guess I will be connecting through a mobile as a wifi hotspot. Also, are any of the networks better than others here?
Thanks,
Kim

Living in Pak Kok these days, here's my take:

Broadband speeds are similar to the rest of Lamma, max. 3 Mbps download and 0.5Mbps upload speed.

It's pretty stable and reliable overall, good enough for my home office. I rarely need to restart the modem after an occasional service interruption, only happening at night occasionally.

I use my mobile as a Wifi hotspot when I need more speed, but the (usually not enforced) monthly fair use limit of a few GBs can be used up in a few hours when you start streaming/downloading. iPhones have been reported to overheat when you do this, but my large Samsung phone has no problems so far.

Mobile 3G/4G depends very much on where in Pak Kok you live. There are quite a few completely dead spots around Pak Kok, especially but not only in the valley where even 2G is unavailable and even my streaming music stops when walking by.

In the good spots you often get beyond 20Mbps up and download speeds. The best I've ever seen was beyond 60Mbps for Three, on my rooftop, see below. But that was probably a rare occurrence and not typical.

I'm not sure about the other mobile networks, except my wife's PCCW which seems to be doing fine as well. Go INSIDE the place you consider living in and test your mobile's speed, only way to know for sure.
