Lamma Gung

I perused the fight Club and saw Granola's very sick, cruel and twisted thread that is locked so only he can post in it.

It seems he is now trying to get sycophantic adulation from his peers with a needless unwarranted and sickening tirade of abuse at someone who really does not deserve this.

Is Granola a paying customer to the lamma zine to advertise his rot? Do you think others viewing to these forums will enjoy this spectacle of bullying. I think Granola's perspective has gone a little askew in his personal crusade of hatred and cruelty.

Most of Granola's comments are negatively aimed at ridiculing people with some degree of wit if not originality and variation. I think he has gone too far and his cruelty needs to be curtailed.

I am sure many more would participate in these forums if they were not subject to the negative backstabbing cruel attacks on their characters as soon as they post something they wish to opine.

I think the lamma zine would have more contributions and interest if Granola's sick and cruel one liners were limited.

We have all heard Granola's concern for the young and his protestations when he thinks some in these forums have gone too far. What sort of example is he setting to the youth in his personal cruel vendetta of abuse and sadism.

Anyway Lamma Gung, consider my disgust at Granola's barbarism for what it is worth, for the good of these forums.

He locked it but replaced it with an identical "stickied" one. Which you have already posted in.

See http://www.lamma.com.hk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4694

If you want to contact Lammagung privately, that's what the PM button is for.
Since you made this a public message, expect public responses.

PS. I've got to ask, have you really become a disciple of Spinoza, or are you taking the piss? If the latter, my compliments, very well done parody.

No Alan, I don't even know Spinoza and I do not read half his posts - I scroll past the bits I do not understand, like anyone can.

I know no one in these forums nor wish to - thats the beauty of it.

I just dont like the ganging up on someone. Its unnecessary and cruel. Who likes cruelty?

This was not meant to be a private letter to lamma gung! I expect all sorts of comments and people can decide what they like.

You are a pretty smart guy Alan and I wish you would stop wasting your time on Spinoza and aim your skills, knowledge and wit at justifiable targets like government corruption, racism, intolerance etc.

PS - Alan, if it was you getting this treatment I would make the same points.

Granola is the moderator of the Fight Club, so has a lot of leniency what to do in the forum he moderates. It's not a public forum, accessible on request only and only a few dozen people can even see it.

Granola's totally ironic style of anti-moderating has proven to be very well-suited for the Fight Club and he has succeeded in doing it for quite some time, where former FC moderators, including myself, have failed.

Locking a forum is pretty harmless and Spinoza is doing the same in his (public) forum. The Fight Club is here to avoid fights in public and people are free in there to react to his messages which bore and/or upset so many forum members. No need to gang up on anybody, it looks like so many people share the same reactions to Spinoza's postings.

I'm glad to hear that there's at least a single public defender of Spinoza left on the entire site. Who else is daring to come forward, we'd love to hear from you! I've heard from at least a dozen people already, many of them long-time, loyal members, who have abandoned these forums because of Spinoza. That's a high price to pay for allowing his frequent abuses of his freedom of speech. I've always upheld and defended it so far, like the freedom of speech of all members, including Spinoza's detractors.

Lamma Gung,

Thanks for replying. I appreciate the politics of you're website and am glad that you have reflected and will reflect further upon past and future sentiments expressed.

Did you really mean this?
'No need to gang up on anybody'

I dissagree that more people stay away from the forum because of Spinoza than Granola. One can avoid Spinoza's posts by scrolling and Spinoza does not attack people's character unless he is being assaulted.

Those 'long-time, loyal members' you mention could simply scroll past Spinoza's posts. It is just as well there are new people expressing views in these forums or entropy would result. I read most of the posts Spinoza initiates and sure, anyone can be boring, verbose etc etc. But I do not think he has written anything that earns the sort of vile rot that Granola has initiated.

Anyway, readers of this forum can decide themselves on the veracity of 'Granola's totally ironic style of anti-moderating...'

I could not imagine myself, you or most balanced people wanting to create a 'locked' thread anywhere for the sole purpose of hurting, ridiculing and lets face it....being cruel, vile and sadistic to any one. In countering the tit for tat logic, Spinoza's 'locked' thread was in response and to showcase the vile, sick and twisted sadism that Granola wished to lambast him with.

I am glad you mentioned free speech. Granola himself asked me to remove a post that he thought offensive. Out of consideration, I removed my contentious post. Perhaps he could show the same consideration.

Granola's latest vindictiveness is a poll, aimed at Spinoza again. This guy does not desist and his behaviour seems indicative of a rabid dog. Well, Lamma Gung, you make up your own mind about Granola's vile 'fun'.

The point is that Granola, perhaps one of those 'long-time, loyal members' and the 'Lion of lamma' as he wistfully coins himself, is subject to the same character assassination that he attempts on others.

Mud, or rather shit ,sticks.

PS Lamma Gung, what is this 'abuse of freedom of speech' that you allude to?
How can you abuse freedom of speech? Unless its like a type of bounded freedom of speech or limited freedom of speech.

Except he interprets almost any remark that does not support him as an assault.

He basically follows the GWB line: "If you're not with me, you're with the Terrorists".

Sorry Tjungarayi, I think you've got Granny Eater all wrong. He applies with a fair degree of consistency a Rabelaisian, sometimes bawdy humour that aims to knock the pompous and the self-important on their asses. I'm all for using humour and mockery to poke fun at the arrogant and the prideful, whoever they may be. (For further reading on the political potential of Rabelaisian-style mockery of the self-important, see Stallybrass & White, The Politics and Poetics of Transgression)

L-G, please feel free to set this Spinozoan sycophant straight with direct examples of this.

As could you with everyone else except Spinoza's posts thereby saving everyone from you're bleeding heart support and relentlessly blinkered responses.

Well I guess we are all going to have to settle this men to men. Don the mankinis and wrestle to the death.

Is the public ready for the slap and grunt as glistening tanned muscle strains against hardened sinew such a clash of titans would spectacle. Would womens knees not tremble at the sight of jutted chin and steely gaze.

My pulse quickens at the image.

adieu

Toddy, thank you for your civilized reply.
I admit Spinoza can get arrogant and pompous as we all do at times. But this constant vendetta by Granola and others seems askew and peculiarly reminiscent of episodes of cruelty, baiting and ganging up that I witnessed in many schools.

i think you have missed the point norseman. If you were being bullied i would defend you. I will save my bleeding heart for worthier causes.

Well, you got me there Foxy - very astute of you.

I guess I should have said in both instances that 'I read most of his posts'.

This is like being attacked by a pack of wolves or pirahna!

No, these were my two able assistants: Polly the Rhodesian ridgeback on top of Champagne the lurcher.

Beautiful dogs but both poisoned about 10 years ago.

Foxy quoted your own claims without comment and you construe them as an attack with further allusion to a physical attack.

No it was not nice and thanks for your commiserations.

BTW I was not attacking you and am not doing so now. I just said 'I read the papers too' elsewhere and look what that started ... As for the above, please be consistent in your assertions - I just notice and question inconsistencies - it goes with being a medical editor.

I think you and the S man are being a bit paranoid and perhaps playing at martyrs?.
