Like most Lamma residents I have no alternative but to put up with the crap service at the HSBC bank. No one deserves to queue up inside or oustide the bank for 30 mins+ for the transaction that the ATMs can't accommodate. I was very proud of myself today for being extremely patient with the bank after queuing for 40 mins!!! Although the staff are considerably efficient, why does the bank only open two and a half days a week! And only three counters are in service! All these banks b'shitting how they focus on "Customer Service", but it seems to me that they only take care of the richer in town. Who should we turn to with this kind of unfair treatment?

I just don't want to waste time waiting, queuing, waiting, queuing.....Life's too short!

I've never had to queue up for more than 5 mins outside the bank. If the line is that long, have a beer at the fountain head table beside the ATM. Life is too short to stress about that.

I fully agree with Insomniac. The queues are usually very short, less than 5 minutes in my own experience as a frequent check depositer, and often there's no wait at all, especially in the afternoons.

EXCEPT when you're going there first thing in the morning when the little old ladies are queuing up half an hour before HSBC opens. If there are more than a few people at any time, wait half an hour, have a drink and when you come back the queue has probably almost completely dissolved.

The service from the staff is almost always exemplary, way above and beyond any bank service I've encountered in town. A friendly smile and they greet you by name, a real village service, very patient, I like going there and I'm not kidding.
