Have a look at what I just found on the new CNN GO Website:

http://www.cnngo.com/hong-kong/play/pollution-tourism-see-amazing-polluted-sights-around-hong-kong-865637

The story highlights Powerstation Beach as one of only 3 "must-see “pollution tourism” destinations" in all of Southern China that "are continuing to raise environmental eyebrows."

Thoughts?

Chosen purely for the visual impact.

There are plenty of truly unhealthy beaches in HK and places with much dirtier air.

I wouldn't recommend going near any of the beaches near Tuen Mun.

After that naughty piece about Pollution Tourism to Power Station beach, CNN GO has just listed their shortlist of favourite HK Blogs, including the Lamma-zine as the currently first one listed:

http://www.cnngo.com/hong-kong/localviews

Have a look through the list, there are some really fascinating HK blogs in there, way beyond the usual well-known ones.

"Well-placed benches look out onto a parade of grey-suited Discovery Bay commuters, disshevelled Mui Wo types and Lamma Island hippies running to catch their ferries."

There would be a nice little game you and your friends could play if you have a few free minutes atop the flyover from the ifc, right at the escalator going down to the Lamma ferry, where the constantly arriving stream of people from the ifc parts into Disco Bay types (Discoverians?) and Lammaites:

Try to guess which ferry people will take. I'd guess you could get a pretty high accuracy rate, solely based on people's looks, dress and demeanour.
Do it during rush hour on a week day, avoiding the hard-to-classify island visitors.

Thoughts?
