I maybe wrong ken, but I reckon given the local band scene, and the Lamma bar's most played tunes, that most ppl like regular bands rather than fusion shite. We all love the Black Eyed Peas if that is Phunk. The most boring thing is having some DJ mix unheard of tunes into segments of unheard of tunes.

Why be so sweeping in your statment.
I'm sure a lot of people hate the BEP's
and would love the chance of a dance scene bar in Lamma
It seems to me that any thing or any one wanting to do anything new
in YSW is not given a chance.
Maybe the Island Bar for Local people has some thing to do with that
do you think?
Not just our selves but friends and relatives that have visited say that the people who sit in both the Island Bar and The Aroy Thai look at you as if you have no right to be in the place (does any one else feel this) it is not a nice atmosphere. Give us some choices let in some new ideas and for goodness sake be welcoming.
Thats all
NO RESPONCE just as expected

It's ok, I like fooling around and I don't give a damn about how ppl look at me.

When I listened to rock for a long time, I feel it's the best music in the world. Someone will also tell me that pop rules, eminem rules, black eyed peas rules, grammy award winner rules.

But music is an art form, it's about appreciation. Pure criticism destruct vulnerable creativities. Appreciation help it to grow. You can say viewing Picasso's drawings is absolute waste of time. But you say what you like, it's fine.

I'm not trying to make any enemies in here, because making friends make life a lot easier.

One day I might come around and fusing my synth stuff into a jazz or pop rock band, who knows?

Why it won't be boring to just listen to a local band playing a mix of unheard of tunes into segments of unheard of tunes?

Because it's a band?
Because it's from local?
Because you are a local person?
Because u never get used to listen something that you are unheard?
Because you have never seen a bar who plays fusion shite and people love it?
Because you don't know what is electronica?
Because you only know band sounds?
Because you only know black eyed peas?
Because you don't know some people in this world like the music which u called as fusion shite?

Eh?

Even I'm not an expret in english till now, I want to say that, I wouldn't know how to speak english before I try understanding it, I hope you can enjoy your life in Hong Kong where almost 80% of people who speak a different language from you and having different skin colour as your and also have different taste in music that you.

Good night, sleep well!

Hey not all bands just play 'rock' music. I would say from Lamma there is only ONE rock band! We have bands playing funk, African music, Celtic music, girlie pop, folk punk. Really Kenoir! Naughty Kenoir! hahahahaha

There are other bands in HK who play exactly the music you describe - synth with a pop rock band? Try Fantastic Day. Jazz fused with a pop rock band? Try Helter Skelter in a quiet moment. More electronica is your cup of tea? Try Mango532. Question is "How do I know all this info about HK bands??!?"

bbChris,

Could we get a short list of which Lamma bands play what kind of music and what their current status is (hibernating, regrouping, preparing for next gig at Underground, working on a CD, on the verge of becoming world-famous, etc.).

Many Lammaites would love to know this simple info!
I can help with some bands and Nude Kevin with some more Lamma bands, but a number of bands we don't know that much about, especially all the DOZENS of bands you're playing in...
