Anyone knows anything about the Lamma Fun day? Anyone has a schedule or an idea about what's happening? I have asked around and I know that lots of Lamma bands are interested in playing, but no one has a precise idea of what's going on. Do please let us know, if you have any idea or know the organisers. Cheers. |

Thanks for prompting me to get some info up here. Fred has done an excellent job of arranging a music line up for Lamma Fun Day that is whopping... great acts from noon til night. Looks a bit like this: 12pm Mike Barry 1 Sarah 2 Odyssey 3 Garoupa 4 DJ Steve Bruce 4:30 Bricker 5:30 Papa Jack 6:30 DJ Steve Bruce 7 Chris B & Friends 8 Yung Shue Wankers Hopefully there will be buskers down at the site and around the village all in the name of the cause as well (if you are a musician and want to busk away, please do - add to the carnival atmosphere - but please donate some of your earnings to the event charity). There will, of course, be a bar running all day and a lot more food than we had last year. Also all manner of activities to keep the kids entertained while you get into the bands... or for yourself if you want a break from them. If you want further info about Lamma Fun Day, please visit our website www.lammafunday.com - there's email info there or you can send me a PM via this site. |

You could be right there, some of the two bands seem to know each other very well. But only the lead singer (Tracy?) lives on Lamma and some of the other 4 ladies are her International School mates. They've been playing together for quite some time, but it was their first gig on Lamma. Hopefully not their last! I did a quick interview with them after their gig. I've also just added a short video clip of their signature song "I'm a a bitch" to my Fun Day photo gallery. This was one of their two great posters for the Fun Day gig: <img src="http://www.compunicate.com/Lamma/27/Odyssey-bb.jpg" border=1> |

gargoyle, Do you have the other names as well? They were too much in a hurry for more questions, when I talked to them at the Fun Day, as they were rushing to the ferry. Anybody got pictures of the other gigs during the Fun Day? I only shot Sarah, Odyssey and Garoupa myself. |

from Doggy: Hi Everybody, Adding it all up, I've worked out a total of $40,597.7 raised at the Lamma Fun Day!!!! How cool is that? That's 15 grand more than we raised in previous years. Some amazing contributions went into that, like $11,000 raised from sale of bric-a-brac and $10,000 from sale of food. Loads of people put heaps of effort into making fun day such a success, so I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all of them (and I'm sure Child Welfare Scheme would as well). And thanks to everyone who attended and had fun in the sun with us last Sunday. Sean's photos are up online at http://www.lammafunday.com and Lamma-Gung's at http://www.compunicate.com/Lamma-zine/PG-Fun-Day-2003.htm There are a bunch more excellent photos that Marty took still to go on line, so I will send another email around when they do. So who's looking forward to next year's? Love from DoggyXOXO |

I did the final audit yesterday, and discovered that there were a couple of amounts I hadn't factored in, so the total is actually $45,335.3 |
