LammaGung, blame LOVE for the reason none of my bands are playing at Dickstock!! Thinking Out Loud's bass player Egg is getting married on the auspicious occasion of 5 November and as you probably know with Chinese weddings, they are not over till around 11pm. ....
So a bunch of us musicians are going to be at the wedding....

And Rockit auditions, TOL did not enter as Egg is getting married....
so my chance is only 2 out of 60 instead of 3!!

Didn't TOL have a farewell concert a few months back, dissolving afterwards?

Your reply (clever to use LOVE as an excuse!) only covers one out of your current 3 bands. What about the other 2?
An all-girl band like "Guitars and Panties" might go down well at DickStock, but we might have to put up a security fence around the "stage"...

TOL did indeed have a farewell concert in July, as Chris W our lead guitarist left the band to GET MARRIED

The rest of us decided it was too good to let go and went about getting a new guitarist and new songs.

Interestingly our drummer just got engaged over the summer.

It appears, if you want to get married - JOIN THINKING OUT LOUD~!!!

Well, that's a good match-making advert for TOL... The practice sessions must be really interesting...

I think none of us got married since becoming a moderator in the last 3 years!

Or you can suggest a new forum and we might create it for you!

It's fun to be a moderator and you have ABSOLUTE POWER over all messages in your forum. It's quite a power trip for some of our moderators (I won't name any names, but that particular individual likes to eat a special type of grain...)

...and you won't have to worry about getting married (accidentally or incidentally) while being a moderator!

Also, no pay, but lots of FAME and GLORY are awaiting you!
OK, I'm lying about the fame & glory part but all the rest of that sentence is true...

Hey, I was just going to get the map, when my iron-age PC's Windows memory heaps filled up again and I had to post the message to avoid losing it...

You've answered my message within 5 minutes, not giving me enough time to find my old map. Here it is:



Basically, just go up to Po Wah Yuen and follow the signs to Pak Kok. Just behind the huge tower crane on the beach behind Po Wah Yuen you pass every day twice on the ferry... Or follow the crowds of happy people, can't miss it, 10-15 minutes from Main Street.

Still no info, poster or flyer available at all about DickStock this year.

We believe it might happen on Saturday, sometime in the evening, starting probably before midnight, probably in DickStock's garden opposite the Lammarina, or maybe inside the Lammarina if too many people show up, or not, or whatever.

Whatever musicians will show up can play, either alone or jam with other random musicians showing up. Maybe there'll be an amplifier and some loudspeakers, but you'll better bring your own, otherwise it might be an unplugged performance only.

Cheap & plentiful drinks will probably be available, not sure about any catering...

The only thing we know for sure about DickStock this year that everybody will have a great time and that's all that really counts, doesn't it?

Bring your camera along and send your very best shots to me afterwards. The best ones will be published on this website in the DickStock 2005 photo gallery!
