I love the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto too, but i don't know if i have heard Milstein's.

This is a fascinating recording where the string section was only played by one instrument per part, and that gives a lot of clarity and transparency to the texture. You'd be able hear thing that you wouldn't hear in other recordings.

I borrowed it from a friend who runs a classical radio station on the Internet. He sometimes receives free sample from record companies I think.
