Hi,
We're coming to the Island next week and I wondered if there was any capoeira around? Or would I have to go to Hong Kong centre for this?

If not, would anyone want to train / play / learn with me??

Thanks!

There was a Capoeira teacher living here before, Jo from Brazil, giving local classes for children and adults close to the YSW Tin Hau Temple, featured in several Lamma-zine stories.
But I haven't heard from her in a few years. Ask her as she'd probably know of anybody teaching Capoeira these days on Lamma: https://www.facebook.com/jo.oliveira.735

There was a Brazilian Zouk dance demo and show a few days ago on Hung Shing Yeh beach, starting up local classes as well soon: https://www.facebook.com/LammaZouk

Thanks!! I had heard of Jo actually, hadn't realized she was on Lamma though. Will follow up :)

After asking around a bit it seems Jo hasn't been seen on Lamma in a long time. But maybe Makha the drummer can teach? I have seen him doing a few moves at the beach last summer.

Jo is still in HK, just moved to the city. Try contacting her via facebook, she's still teaching and I think she would come to Lamma for classes.
