Hi all!

What a wonderful day it was yesterday! Again, the number of marchers that came out surprised even the organisers!! The yellow ribbons were a brilliant touch and it was even more peaceful than last year despite hotter temperatures!!

Here's a few pics:
Walking into Victoria Park (Start of march) - noticed those cute blown-up banners of Tung!!

Shaun & I entering the park - for some reason Shaun's sprouted a mini-umbrella out of his head

Moving inside Victoria Park

Political protestors of all ages were there!!!

Guess what I think of Tung!! ALso you see the yellow ribbon on my arm? They were giving out them to everyone at Victoria Park.

Creative statements!

I particularly liked this banner!! ANd thought having our local policemen in front was a cool photo! I wish it was more in focus!!!

So inspiring to see how some people who had reasonable excuses not to march came anyway!

I'm tying my yellow ribbon to outside Government House - a wonderful way to show our desire for democracy!

Great & passionate photos!

I liked Shaun's fashionable umbrella hat the most! These little "photographic accidents" often make for the best photos!

I hope I can use some of these in the next Lamma-zine - with full credits, of course?

Any more photos from other Lammaites?

Congrats to BBChris and Shaun for turning out for what is a v important occasion. I was a bit disappointed when there was no coverage of the 4th June demos/memorials on these forums. For those of us who were there at the time it was a powerful and different side of Hong Kongers at a time when many were asking for the first time about their future. Sad and predictable that Fat Pang and the Iron Lady never managed to give Hong Kong people the vote when they had the chance.

Thanks for the great photos

Power to the people!!

It was all a done deal by the time Patten came. He did increase the number of people who could vote for Legco, he wasn't allowed to do more. It was Thatcher and the FO mandarins like Akers-Jones who sold HK out.
