Moderate something? You mean besides the sheer volume of your messages?

Well, despite your best efforts (or maybe because of them) you didn't get the grand prize of Fight Club moderatorship.
You could start with something simpler and right up your alley... like the Pictures/Photography forum! How about that?

But you'd have rto get rid of the current senior moderator, a guy who's been in charge of it for almost two years, since it was founded, a grizzled tough veteran of the difficult moderating game... MYSELF!

So long as it doesn't go to a vote - unless it's one with a deadline of midnight tonight.
Not that I'm trying to pull a Putin or anything.

Photography sounds good - what better than a beginner to run it, oops moderate it.... can I boot people off?
Think it could turn into a lively forum.

Whao..............., already getting excited - can we have an earlier voting deadline than midnight?

Respectfully yours
Guy

Well, I guess it's unanimous, the people have spoken.
Thank you Fortune - I guess my trolling days are over -

My daughter married a photographer once, and they are, frankly, not very nice people.

I think Guy would make an excellent choice of moderator.

If anyone should have the deciding vote, it's Zep. This isn't another troll [un]popularity vote, it's the photo section.

Zep? Why not Father Xmas?
Sorry votings done by midnight - I won 1-? thanks to my stalwart supporters (Fortune Chan) - and there are no absentee or postal votings considered in this one.

Besides..........., what better than a complete beginner..., we have a troll moderating Fight Club, why not have a photoklutz "moderating" the Photo & Lammazine section?................ Could be an interesting learning curve.
Can't wait to get hold of the Lammazine & Blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bite:

This thread had to be moved because it makes a mockery of Fight Club. Guy Miller, Alan, Fortune Chan, and Brenda all receive special FC yellow cards.

Sure, Guy sounds like a good choice. And Guy - don't believe everything you hear - your photos are really not bad!

Thanks Zep,............... but the more photos I take the more I realise how I've screwed most of them up by over-zealous use of the "digital" zoom.
Will post some in a while (from today) that could be better

Just to put things correct here, Zep is moderating the Flora & Fauna section and I'm the moderator of the Photo section and have been moderating it since I founded it almost two years ago. It would be my decision to abdicate or take on a co-moderator for this forum.

That's it's been so quiet and low-profile might have been my fault, even though I've tried a lot of things to popularise it, like "Where on Lamma?", the "Lamma Photo Contest" with big sponsored prizes, encouraging people in many ways to submit photos for various topics, etc.

Maybe it's time for fresh blood and fresh ideas...
I think that somebody as eager and dedicated to improving his photography skills, technique & equipment as Guy will be a great choice to moderate this forum.

This forum will have to be split in two first, as the Lamma-zine is a separate topic where I should definitely be the moderator, as all the Lamma-zine properties are my "babies":
the magazine, daily Blog, weekly Events Calendar, frequent Galleries and the newly renamed "Lamma-zine Links" section where you can add your own websites.

Guy, as you've been endorsed by the majority of active moderators now, you've just become the official sole moderator of the renamed "Photography & Pictures" section, which will include not just photos, but also artwork and graphics of all types.

Give me a day or two to set up the two forums and move the Lamma-zine-related stuff into a new forum I'll be moderating. Congratulations and welcome to our new moderatir!

Guy, now start cracking to think up some ideas on how to start your moderatorship and make your forum the most popular, maybe someday even exceeding the Fight Club!

Maybe he can continue his wine treasure hunt. As long as he tells people what the rules are beforehand.

Ok - an easy one to begin - but L-B can't join in.
Where on Lamma is this particular bug - can be found in the same spot, or thereabouts everyday for the last month, so should be easy.
A bottle of the red wine will be up for grabs - but if it goes too quickly - I'll make it harder in future - we don't have a veritable French Wine Lake here on Lamma.

To make it slightly easier!
BTW - when these bugs fly their wings are a bright splash of yellow on the upperside in stark contrast to the green you would expect.
Most other bugs seem to have gone in hiding but these seem to be all over the place - but where is this particular one?

A much easier one - so no bottle of wine riding on this.

Past Pak Kok, near where the cable road ends.

Correctamundo - just got yrself 10 points - 100 points you get a bottle of decent wine - good luck.
Unfortunately for some the "guessing where on Lamma" will not be restricted to the confines of YSW - for L-B, until recently hills & scenery were only something that appeared in glossy magazines & movies.

Ok - another real easy one!!! 10 points up for grabs again.
And if you spot the deliberate mistake, there's another 50 points up for grabs!!!!!
