Seeing this rock from the top of the hill overlloking Mo Tat I could not help being reminded of Lammagung's ling gok/bullhorn avatar. Maybe the mountain should be renamed after the horny Gung??

Indeed that's why the hill is called "Ling Kok Shan" in Chinese. "Ling Kok (陵角)" is the shape of that rock. |

bunnyrabbit, Really? I was wondering about the origin of that name just a few days ago, when looking for some new hiking routes on the map around that area! That's a real rock up there? It's so smooth and has straight lines. Somebody should shoot some close-ups, maybe from below as well. I'll have a closer look when celebrating my birthday in Cococabana this weekend. Very suitable that we'll be so close to Ling Kok Shan... Zep {L_WROTE}: Maybe the mountain should be renamed after the horny Gung??
Zep, so you've been speaking with Lamma-Por again? |

I believe "Ling Kok" means "Imperial Tomb Rock". Presumably it's supposed to resemble a gravestone. |

So who's right here? bunnyrabbit, The spelling on the map is as below. The first character is different from your Chinese spelling of "Ling Kok" above.

Lamma-Gung {L_WROTE}: So who's right here?
bunnyrabbit, The spelling on the map is as below. The first character is different from your Chinese spelling of "Ling Kok" above. That "ling" means "caltrops", same as the seed in your old avatar. So it is your rock after all. |

sorry Kung the "Ling" should be the character you find (菱). I should check it first since they've same sound in Chinese. But I'm sure the name of the hill "Ling Kok Shan" is came from that particular "Ling Kok Boulder". It's quite famous in local hiking guides. |

So much for my pioneering insight into Ling Gok San. Just pipped at the post by about 30 centuries of Chinese tradition. {L_QUOTE}: Horny Gung??...
so you've been speaking with Lamma-Por again? Yeah, that's the word on the street... |
