Nice images Mo.

Looks like you are reducing the size of the images to come under the 100kb allowance per image.

Just before you reduce the actual size..........

Open icon w/Paint.
Save
Close
Image byte size will be reduced hugely....... probably well below 100kb.

Then just reduce the actual size to suit the forum - somwhere between 500-650mm across the horizontal (that way people don't need to scroll across each time to read text - a mistake I have often made )

Not more than 550 pixels wide, please; even better only up to 430
(for people with lower screen resolutions like the standard 800*600 pixels).

Nice image............ can see yr getting stuck into it straight away.

Just a thought, presumably Canon comes with some sort of image editing software.
The images from yr camera will be stored/catalogued in sequence on yr hard drive

If you change the name of the photo to orch.jpg, sometime down the road when you've taken a few thousand photos, you'll have trouble knowing where the original is if you want to reprocess it for whatever reason

If you start off by having some sort of cataloguing of yr pics will help you in the future, but similarly if you start with the Canon default # for yr pics, or a customised #, as yr photos are taken - you can quickly find the original or reprocess.........ie.......

canon_1234.jpg becomes
canon_1234 - Orchid.jpg

that way you can still catalogue by description, but still know where the original is in yr "image directory.

Bit of a ghost on the outline..........., but it was handheld

Nothing decent in "Birds" to show today so had a wander down to the harbour to watch the Egrets & Herons frolicking about late afternoon.
Most of the shots were blurred coz am still trying this manual focus stuff.......... but here's one I quite liked...........
(for the nice lady who complimented me on the photos today)
