Is that the one with Andy Lau?

Post subject:

yup, that's the one.
your hero looks sooooo coooool,
much better than andy lau.
(andy lau looks the same in all his movies - at least that's what i think - hope i didn't anger any andy lau fans here.)

Andy does look the same in all his movies, and so are his songs.

I must have upset a couple of million people (not including the die hard fans in China). Slaughter me you fans and make me into a hot pot!

Sounds like 'RAN'. I'm not sure if I can watch any of them, since I'll be leaving for Germany on 17th. Perhaps I can see the German version of 'Hero', since Zhang Yimu is quite well accepted there.

there's always the vcd to look forward to. i think i'll wait for the vcd too. perhaps we can get one each and then exchange. but then, u might want to buy all your hero's vcd to complete your collection. :)

It's nice to follow this friendly dialogue between a cat and a dog above.
Former archenemies in a wild cat and dog fight, now reconciled and exchanging friendly, cheerful banter!

Doesn't it warm your heart.... Awwwwww!

After the long waiting, I managed to watch the movie last night at Cinematique. Well... personally I don't like the movie very much but Tony Leung is still handsome, and so it's still worth the ticket. The cinema management must be half deaf because the volume was turned far too high. My ears were suffering from listening to the sheering metal in the never-ending sword fights.

You didn't like the movie much? But YOU were the one starting this topic promoting this movie so heavily!

But how can a Tony Leung fan like him in this movie? He gets killed FOUR times (Lamma-Por was counting!) in this movie, in four different ways! Wasn't it heart-rending to see him die so many times in a single movie?

I was just leaning back and enjoying the amazing, astounding cinematography, staring blissfully at the screen and going WOWWWWW! with glazed eyes!
And Maggie was great, as almost always. Even in the most horrible roles/movies she's been playing over the years she manages to shine and stand out.
And Zhang Ziyi is even better in this movie than in Crouching Tiger...

I agree fully with these reviews on rottentomatoes.com:
{L_QUOTE}:
"A dazzlingly lensed, highly stylized meditation on heroism and the point at which individualism conflicts with the common good."
"Instead of reinventing this genre, Zhang opts to dazzle his audience with his assemblage of technical and aesthetic wonders."

To set the record straight, I'm not a groupie who wants to bed their idols. I appreciate Tony for his talents and charm. It doesn't bother me at all to see him dying (even repeatedly) in a movie. I'm a sophisticated dog.

p.s. e's new avartar is a bit scary, can you convince her to change it since there are young dogs who could be disturbed by her cat eyes....

webdog,
Yes, I agree that e's new Avatar is quite scary, but then, I made it on her request from a new photo she sent me yesterday.

Now you know why she'sa "human slave to mr3", he's hypnotising her to fulfil all his wishes anytime! Look deep into these eyes for a minute or so, and even a webdog will start loving all kitties!

I was thinking of animating mr 3's eyes to spiral, change colors slowly or at least flash and twinkle occasionally, but it would have been too scary...
