I haven't seen them, but they were in this very cool independent video store at the turn of this century in North Carolina. I think they are stroke-wanker films. I passed them up for the same reason I admonished my son during our very first visit to a video store in the Eighties.
I had taken my children to Seattle to stay with a friend who had one of those new-fangled Video Cassette Recorders. I instructed my sons to find a video they wanted to son, and Er Son came back with Chuckie, about a toy that kills.
I said, this was inappropriate. The series went on to follow Chuckie's evolution just as Ilse explores the evolution of a she-wolf: Chuckie, Bride of Chuckie (Chuckie gets lucky) and Spawn of Chuckie.
I had my son watch instead My Life as a Dog which all my feminist buds recommended. It was sorta boring but one has to be a Dad.
Check out the Castaways section in your local video store. This marque features films for which it is easy to get license, because nobunny wants to see them. For example, I picked up Bondarchuk's Waterloo, with Christopher Plummer as a vaguely amused Wellington, Rod Steiger as an intense, Method Acting Napoleon, and a cast of thousands who go at it in the old style.
Fine, manly stuff.
My favorite Chick Flick: Mildred Pierce.
Ilse, unlike Chuckie, makes no peace with bourgeois mores. I think she lives on Lamma today, so watch your butt.
