While not very good at landscapes/panoramas, I've found that even ordinary occurrences on Lamma can look great on film. Would anyone else like to share photos of daily life? I've lived in Po Wah Yuen for about a year (first post).

vcilli,

Wow, there are some beautiful shots in there showcasing the peaceful and tranquil side of Lamma that most of us love. Looks like you'll be featured as Photo of the Day on the home page very soon, maybe even in a Lamma-zine story in the future...

We've got a lot of fine landscape/panorama shots, but not enough shots like yours featuring people and animals as part of their Lamma surroundings, creating a calm, relaxed mood. More, more, please!

Yes, there is no shortage of opportunities on Lamma for street and people photography. You can see something new every day...

Lamma-Gung, I believe I met you last Friday - I did the photos for the SCMP's article on the lily pond.

Yesterday morning was the clearest day I've seen in a long time. I had to grab my camera and take shots on the way to catch the ferry.

homeslice,

Yes, I agree completely, yesterday was just a stunning and super-clear day!
You got some really fine shots!

I grabbed my camera as well and went up to the Trig Point, the highest point of North Lamma, in the early morning and shot some pictures myself, including 360-degree panoramas. But the bushes along the very narrow path up there were still pretty wet.

It was easy to get the morning off on such short notice to go out and take pictures. I just asked my boss...myself in my home office...

See Lamma-zine photo story yesterday, May 27, 2009.

Enjoy the last really clear days of the year, when we can see all the way to Disco Bay, Disneyland, Stonecutters Bridge and even to South Lamma.

This photo was taken from the Yung Shue Wan ferry pier the other day and shows the Ling Kok Shan hill behind Sok Kwu Wan with a helipad and TV broadcasting towers for all of Lamma and South HK Island.

The second photo shows the view in the other direction, from the top of Ling Kok Shan, close to the antennas, towards Yung Shue Wan.

Somebody else got similar pairs of Lamma photos?

A rare shot on Lamma, the last rainbow I've witnessed was several years ago. Shot this morning at 6:50am over YSW Harbour, visible only for a few minutes under a clear blue, rainless sky.
