Yes, it is pretty bad. Compared to Pier 3 to D-Bay it is another world. I sometimes take the ferry in (from Sok Kwu Wan) and out to D-bay and it feels like going from old Hong Kong transportation to new Hong Kong transportation in one hour. They do not care to spend any money on marketing or hygiene in spite of the steady revenue generated. Unless the residents actually petition or present a legal issue they will not take care of any "creature comforts."

This is consistent with one country two system principle. The system of “not more than 2 flies in the toilet” from Beijing does not apply in HK.

The toilet on the pier is particularly bad.

I was actually thinking of donating my old toilet seat to them after I buy a new one at Ikea or another place. :)

The toilets on the ferries are much cleaner than the noxious, unventilated one on the pier with its permanently wet floor.

If you're caught short, there is a public toilet up towards the Macau terminal.

Think the cleaners need a course in 'how to clean properly'.

The toilets at the Lamma Pier were disgusting within a year of the new ferry pier opening. Really are disgraceful.

I watched the cleaning lady clean the seats within the concourse one day. There was a bucket of cold murky water beside her. She took out a wet dirty rag and cleaned all the seats in one go...... left them sopping wet,... then left.

I dried a couple of the seats to sit down and put my bag on and the tissue was filthy when I finished.

Think they need to hire a proper cleaning service.

Still on the topic of 'Clean Pier'..... how come between the Lamma Ferry Pier and the Cheung Chau ferry pier in Central, there are heaps of left trolleys, lots of big white polysterene boxes and bags of rubbish. I counted 30 trolleys and 40 boxes one day.

Why are they allowed to just be left there 24/7.

Who can I complain to? Have no idea which department is responsible for the Central Promenade.

In defense of the ferrymen who `close the door in your face' the ferries have a schedule to keep and it is unfair on all the passengers on the ferry waiting to leave if they keep letting one or two stragglers who are late through the gates. It pisses me off when 200 of us are waiting to leave and someone comes strolling on with their cup of coffee a few minutes after we were meant to have left. One person having to wait 30 mins for the next ferry is better than 200 people being 3 minutes delayed in my opinion.
