Seen one of the large HKKF ferries towed today while I was on the 8am to central. Not just towed, but loaded on top of a barge. anybody knows what happened? was it going to sink? 8.20 am to central was a replacement tiny ferry, sea strike or something.

Update: I guess I was wrong, that's very weird.

Maybe it was the one that had been involved in the collision?

Reply from HKKF after I sent them the link to this forum topic and asked them to comment:

"Thanks for your inquiry. According to our understanding, there should be no HKKF ferry being towed or even loaded on a barge in recent days. Anyway, is it possible to furnish us with more details regarding the "towed ferry" such as its name, exact location and time for our further investigation? (Actually, I've checked through AIS system, but nothing was found.)

As for the replacement of different class of vessel at 8:20am from YSW to Central:
It is due to safety maintenance of one of our ferry to ensure its seaworthiness and enhance our ferry service. The vessel deployment has returned to normal since last weekend."
