No 8 typhoon = no ferries. No extra ferries, only cancelled ones. The ferry company is pretty lousy at giving information, they rarely update their website. You just see notices at the piers. Phone 2815-6063, but you'll just get a recording outside office hours. All local TV stations will have a logo on screen showing the typhoon warning. The HK Observatory has all the information. http://www.hko.gov.hk/contente.htm http://www.hko.gov.hk/wxinfo/dailywx/wxwarntoday.htm phone 1878200. http://www.hko.gov.hk/wxinfo/currwx/tc_pos_1314.htm <img src="http://www.hko.gov.hk/wxinfo/currwx/zoom_1314.png?13225123032"> Update: Could be an 8 tonight. |

Yes, there is a method. HKKF's website: http://www.hkkf.com.hk/index.php?op=sho ... e&style=en They always post a notice a few hours in advance with the schedule of the first post-typhoon ferries. |

Perhaps this will stop our rich friends moving to the Island and thinking they can travel to work on a ferry with a T8 going on - what are they thinking - also, has anyone not heard of 'working remotely'? This is Lamma, so no Ferry when T8 hoisted, and I'd go no where near a ferry if winds are too strong - last time I traveled on ferry during T8 from Central I thought I was going to die and journey took more than an hour Not too sure what people are thinking as if signal is not down by 8.00AM the Hong Kong Stock Exchange will be closed!!!!! |
