Who Cares about the handover. It was an inconsequential ( excuse my spelling) Does any one remember the closing of Carolines Bar. Now there was a tradgedy. I first came in contact with the people of Lamma at Carolines. Squinty Backbone wrote a song about it. I drank it dry, as did many a Lammaite. I Formed the Filthy Flute and Bongo Band there. Hugh Vaness famous for the photo of the Last flight out of Vietnam Drank there. I drank there. Squinty Backbone, Sisters of Sharon and a few othe Lamma Bands Drank there. I am even sure somebody got preagnant in the restroom. More people from that epoch of time have moved or Died. Does anybody rember dear Ray Perigroe ( The Adaptors) who went off into that good night one early summer after we spent the night at the Old Bank Of China Building Lanching Hong Kong Pen Club. Shue Yen Shue who was my Neighbour in Pack Kok one of the Brilliant Curators of the National Gallery of Canada has passed on.
I am feeling quite nostalgic today.Sad. Longing for a time that can never be repeated.
The people on the photos at handover I never new. lIve moves on but this little Island in the South China Sea seas to be still rocking. God Save Lamma and it
lovely laid back lifestyle forever.
