It seems that Anthony Bourdain of Travel Channel's "No Reservations" has been filming in YSW a few days ago, in Lamcombe or Sau Kee Rest.?

Can anybody confirm this and has maybe even seen them?

Leggova, photos??

That would be such great news - I love that show, currently in its 6th season - it's amazing that I didn't know about it till now and nobody has taken a picture of the highest-profile worldwide exposure for Lamma Island in many years. The last one of comparable impact was probably Martin Yan featuring Rainbow Rest. in Sok Kwu Wan many years ago.

They must have chosen the Lamcombe for filming due to its reputation BEFORE the new management took over and it has fallen out of favour with most former customers. Many Chinese customers I talked to sound very negative about the new management replacing the traditional gas cooking with electric, not having the authentic Chinese taste anymore and avoiding the place now.

According to Mr DickStock, Bourdain's Travel Channel crew shot in there a couple of weeks ago, several cameras, about a dozen crew.

They just showed a Macau episode a few weeks ago on Discovery Channel in the US, so the HK episode with Lamcombe might be broadcast soon as well.

I'm afraid i was rushing for the ferry. I posted about it on faebook. It was on the 9th of July at around 2pm. I only saw one camera and few people people following him and he was walking along the main street.

I would say there is definintely NO place worth filming his show at on lamma. I went to the Lamcombe a few weeks ago and just had terrible service although the food was ok. Not great, but ok.

Anthony Bourdain at the Lamcombe. About 15 seconds of the video here:

Looks a lot more appetizing there than the last time I went...
