Good value at lunch! Delicious Lamb/Chicken/vegetarian Indian curry platters at $45, plus a lot of (mostly new) free reading materials & newspapers. Basically empty during weekday lunches, you have the place all to yourself, people-watching Main Street life passing by... After 3pm, a few regulars start their daily meetings at the bar... |

Yaffle is damn right. The drunkards are the worse pollution on the island. It's a pity because Spicy Island is quite a nice restaurant, good service, nice food, and very reasonable price. |

The new decoration job is now complete. They were going to build a big wall between the boozer and the resturant, but ran out of construction funds. Also they found out that the pilings weren't deep enough. Corruption? Plenty of lovely seating around the side outdoors. We are entering the lovely cool weather, and its far from the boozers.

You can't knock Dicey Island. It may have a few gin soaked old codgers talking arse, but where else on the island can you get a set lunch for HKD35 which is fresh, tasty and fills you up? Nowhere, that's where. The A La Carte stuff is good too but doesn't compare to the set lunch/dinner. Thumbs up from me my Asian Subcontinental friends. |

 The Spicy Island has excellent vegetarian choices, the service is always very good, the old guys at the bar are really pretty nice and very funny, and most importantly... it is good eats... The screen is in place and adds a bit to the charm... large plant really accents the screen nicely. Try the Spicy Island again if you have not for a while, soup is really great, music is always playing to create fine atmosphere every day.

Yes, I agree, very good eats, best curry on the island! Just had the set lunch there again, $45, incl. soft drink. Fast, friendly, helpful service, even explaining daily specials not on the menu, today's newspapers and magazines and great people-watching on Main Street... |

The Deed Is Done! Kumar's put up the wall. In addition to the existing Dickbar, we've now got a Barbar, which serves to block the bar riffraff from the resturant area. Looks damn good. Pictures to come. Didn't have any film in the camera.
