A shop selling Vietnamese noodles would be good - I think it would be popular with expats and HK'ers.

Indonesian / Malay food would also be heartily welcomed!

+1

Also, fish and chips. Done properly with proper cod (or at least haddock).

Or, a proper coffee shop.

Nice cheap and easy baked potatoes or a sandwich/ cafe bar where you can choose your own ingredients. would be nice to have a coffee shop that was open in the evenings too.

Yes, baked potatoes, sandwiches and salads. And serve until a later time. I usually order this at the 'Banyan Bay' and it's good stuff, but they don't serve food in the evenings/at night.

Yes, I'd agree with that. I get my baked potatoes, sandwiches and salads usually from Tropicana, Ah-Can's shop and little cafe vis-a-vis from Banyan Bay Cafe.

Very nice, custom-made on request and really cheap, but he's usually closing very early, often even after lunchtime already.

A bistro type restaurant/ cafe that serves good home-style food and a decent glass of wine. Not crappy iceberg lettuce salads with parmesan out of a cardboard tube or the cheapest chardonnay. There really are people on Lamma who want a decent meal and are happy to pay a bit extra for a nice glass of wine.

is Buddymamma, the owner of the premises where the seafood restaurant used to be?
Lambcomb was excellent value...pity it had to close down because someone thinks s/he can do better.

Yeah, they could tune it to Radio 4.

Be nice to get away from football and TVB soaps.
