Can anyone help with details of who to contact to remove a couple of too close for comfort nests that are being guarded by some very aggressive (naturally!) adults please?

Cheers.

I had an experience a long time ago where there were wasps in my home, and I couldn't find the source.

I finally found a huge wasps nest (bigger than a football, and quite pretty with a chocolately swirly pattern) above my front door on the stairwell.

Freaked me out so I humbly called the local island police (Cheung Chau where I lived at the time) and asked their advice. They promptly got on to the relevant department and I had a group of three men from the Hygiene and Health dept, or similiar, come and take it away within a couple of hours with no fuss.

If you can find a hive (on your property or a threat to humans. animals) , then local government depts are pretty good at removing them.

OK thanks Tigger. They're only small at the moment but I have no doubt they will grow so perhaps I will try to contact the FEHD directly and see what they suggest.

Great advice Tigger, we have one too in our garden. I was hoping for some help from this thread. FEHD is the way to go then?

Of course,..... this typhoon might push it away, or is that just hopeful thinking and the wretched things are stuck like glue on our palm tree!

I went to the FEHD office behind the footie pitch last Friday late afternoon and they arranged for the special bug people to come on Monday at 1.00. True enough, a crowd of people came precisely on time with plastic bags, spray, clippers and all sorts to remove my nest. They were extremely efficient, advised me to take any pets in, while they worked, and even found a second nest I had not noticed which they also removed!

An excellent service.
