I know this isn't a good picture but could anyone confirm this is a Romer's Tree Frog? The frog was roughly 2.5” to 3” long but it was dark so couldn’t see any markings or colour.

It jumped on to my patio wall from a tree above. The flat is next to Granny Chan's shop.

One of you budding Herpetologist must know.....

Though by now that I'd have been given the Latin name and the mating habbits...

I thought so too - the greenies never stop banging on about this bloody frog.

the posssibilities could be:

A: they have never actually seen one

B: It only exists in the imagination of the nimby anti everything brigade on lamma and is used as a tool in their war against anything new

C: You have actually taken a photo of a new species of Stealth Frog - its glowing white eyes are rather spooky - in which case i would like to name this frog the Xerxes McDonald Stealth Tree Frog

D: your photo is too bad for any sort of identification

So, you see a photo of a frog, and your conclusion is that it proves the frog doesn't exist.
That makes sense.

See http://www.lamma.com.hk/forum-OK/viewtopic.php?t=2276&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=40
for the 7 known local frog species

Nancy is our resident amphibian specialist, probably away at the moment.

It looks like it could be any of those tree frogs on that link.

You can like all you like Xerxes... It certainly won't be called the "Xerxes McDonald Stealth Tree Frog" as that's just stupid. I was thinking something along the lines of - Qui ranae nominibus est gallinaceus.

Well, it was obviously complete nonsense but it wasn't clear how much of that was intentional. The random smears seemed sincere.
