Just found a little spider on my verandah - would anyone know which particular type of spider this is? It looks somewhat like a St. Andrew's Cross to me, but since I ain't no spiderman, not 100% sure.

Also, would anyone like to see this spider be set free to Mother Nature's care? Or do you think it looks perfectly happy on my fence?

News flash!

The spider has moved to a better location - it formed its web between the outside table and chair last night. The move should give it better sheilding from the wind - but left at the mercy of my neighbours cat!

I have also continued my fascination of legs counting on insects - but only found 7 on the spider...

And I ain't no spiderman cos I don't wear lytex body suits with the underwear on the outside... well, not normally...

Can you stamp on it and leave it behind the bar of the Deli Lamma for closer inspection? I think i've got its plastic twin.

I think my spider somehow heard you, Marcus. It has run away, perhaps fearing for its life... or perhaps it heard he had a plastic twin and thus set off on his jolly way down to Deli Lamma in the hopes of meeting up.

Essentially - it's gone!!
