On the YSW-Central ferry this afternoon, there was a large frog hopping down the aisle, to the delights & squeals of the passengers.

Sorry, no photo, as we just spotted it when getting ready to get off the ferry and it hid under the seats. But it was the same kid-fist-sized species that hid inside a plastic bag I had left outside over night recently; it escaped by jumping when I picked up the bag. They can also be seen all over Lamma these days, especially on our paths late at night. Completely harmless and pretty docile, you could pick them up gently and relocate them out of harm's way, if necessary.

What's the most unusual wildlife you've seen on-board an HKKF ferry?

So what do you reckon.... was the frog captured and eaten for dinner, or some kind hearted soul rescued it and sent it back to Lamma?

The only wildlife I can recall ever seeing on the ferry are cockroaches.

It depends on how you define the wild and non-wildlife.

Well, I asked exactly the same question on my Facebook Wall and out of the 24 comments I've received so far, including some very funny ones (which is exactly what I was fishing for), none was actually related to animals, except 1 ironic comment about dogs and cockroaches.

Some comments included:

Nick the Bookman
Lamma Dragon Boat team
their friends, naming them
Out of control school kids, with parents/ helpers content to look the other way
"Swarm of locusts ... heading for the delights of the SKW restaurants. They devoured an entire chicken coop of boiled bones on the way over, leaving the cabin littered in styrofoam and regurgitated gristle."

and probably the best one, I've seen so far: "The mirror"
