Thought you might get that one, so with the mynah answer I'll have to give you another 20 points towards the next bottle of red wine.

Seems yr way ahead of everybody Zep, so could we even things up a bit. From now could you answer the questions with one eye shut & one arm tied behind yr back & give others a chance. (shouldn't let L-B know yr into bondage though, could have some quite weighty consequences).
More pics to follow....

Could it possibly be a Chinese blackbird? Or maybe a male Koel?

Don't be silly Zep - it's a yellow-browed warbler.

Actually it's hair-crested drongo (Dicrurus hottentottus). A Chinese blackbbird has a bright yellow bill (alkso short and sharp) while the koel has a white bill. It's the tail that is most distinctive though, broad and curving up at the end. The final clue is the single hair crest which is just showing here. In fact the hair crest is not present on all birds.

In a couple of weeks, the very similar black drongo (Dicrurus macrocercus) will be arriving with the Indian cuckoos to show that the hot sweaty season is really with us. The black drongo is a bit slimmer with a deeper tail fork and much more skilful acrobatic flight. It also has a different call, a strange squeaky sound like rubbing a balloon.

PS - saw a narcissus flycatcher this morning - quite uncommon, but, along with a number of other passage migrants, a few pass through in the first two weeks of April.

Which could quite probaly lead nicely into the next photo submitted courtesy of Neil on a recent trip to Lamma.
But I'll give you a clue it's not a Yellow-browed Warbler!!!!!!

Hm, I'll get in before that creep Chav Darwin gets out of bed. Very nice pic of a Japanese Paradise flycatcher (the one with the long black tail and blue eye ring). I've never seen one, but heard of reports during the spring passage.

The other one I'm really not sure. My best guess on this pic would be an Asian brown flycatcher, but not everything fits. Maybe get expert advice on this one?

I think a brown flycatcher would have more noticeable white edges to the wing feathers. My choice here would be red-tailed robin. It's hard to tell without seeing the front, but there is a bit or rufous colour at the base of the tail.

Fantastic shot of a brown shrike (Lanius cristatus) - these are not at all common, and only a few come by Lamma in winter, or on passage in April, so you are indeed fortunate that this one chose to land on your favorite banana.
