Post subject:  Wild Boar Sighting

This morning i rode my bike down the hill from Tai Peng for the 6:20 ferry.

Just after the Waterworks Dept going towards the old farm a wild boar jumped out of the bushes from the left side and crossed the path into the grass on the right. I had to slam the brakes on to avoid hitting it - it was that close!! It scared the bejeezus out of me.

This thing is a monster. Since it was only a couple of metres in front of me I can rightly estimate it would have been about 3 feet tall and as it crossed the path (extremely fast mind you) it was a wide as the path (guessing about 5 feet long). Very fat, very big, very hairy and dark brown. In all I would say it was at least double if not triple the size of a large dog.

The amazing thing was how fast it was going and how it leaped out suddenly from the side. I'll be taking it easy going along there in future.

Glad it wasn't time or my kids weren't with me.
