Strange scene on Hung Shing Yeh beach which went largely unnoticed by the hordes of day trippers. The stem of an Elephant's Ear tree near the sitting out area going up towards Sok Kwu Wan was covered by a strange mantle which turned out to be hairy caterpillars crammed together.

Sorry Zep............ only just noticed the caterpillars above......... most unusual. A bug from today....... Blue Spotted Tiger Beetle [Cicindela separata]. They seem to be littering the footpaths everywhere these days........... Shot on a rooftop in Yung Shue Long New Village today, on the tree and on red tiles. It was almost one inch long and very patient, even when flashed from just a 1-2 feet away...

With Cobras in the toilet & frogs between yr toes, interesting to hear what next.
