Aren't you in the wrong forum here, Mr "Moderator" of the "Fight Club"?

Does Granola know yet that you're impersonating him?

I have pix of two of these famous turds on my brand new, state-of-the-art digital camera. However, as yet no idea how to get the photos from camera to computer to lammazine...patience, patience!!

Well, we could meet and I'll shoot a picture with my own camera of the turds picture displayed on the back of your camera!

Or you could just loan your camera's memory card to me. My 21-in-1 card reader will read almost any card storage format out there (except the microscopic MMC format my mobile phone is using to store data and photos. As the proprietary USB cable has some connectivity problems, I'm in the same situation as you for now with my mobile phone photos. But they're crap-quality anyway.)

In the box you should have a data cable to connect the camera to a USB port on a PC. Windows (or Macs) should see it as a drive without any special software and you can copy the image files to your hard disk, and thence email.

Alternatively, multiple-format memory card readers are about $40, and usually faster.

Seems that half the threads on this forum are about some form of turds.

Fascinatingly anal. Perhaps someone could given us the Freudian Perspective?

Hi LG and Alan,

Some technical advice would be appreciated here! I've been trying to get my pics uploaded onto my PC, but it seems that my USB ports on my PC aren't working. This also might explain why my printer hasn't been working for a while. According to my camera instructions when I plug the cable into the USB I should start getting directions on the screen (I have Windows XP), but nothing happens. Does this mean I need to take my PC back to Wanchai Computer Centre? BTW, yes, I have tried other cables into the USB slot, including my printer's, and my PC isn't reacting. Tks! ****!

I have Windows XP and also have problems getting automatic directions to come up for add ons using the USB (bloody shonky system). However, I can upload the pix from my camera by going to Explore and searching for the memory stick on that program list. If you've already tried that and it didn't work, sorry I can't help more -- I only know the dead easy ways to try and beat XPs glitches!

Most PCs have several USB ports, if so try another. Mine will ignore some devices if they're in the "wrong" port.

Unless it's under warranty, pay a visit to Andy. He's just relocated his shop "Chun Man Computer Co" but is still in business, call him on 9520 0547.

Where did Andy relocate to? Off-island?
I got my fine, new PC custom-built by him last year and I was getting worried about still getting on-island support.

Still on Lamma, on the way to Tai Peng near the Water Supply office. He said the rent was going up at his old shop, so he moved.

Sometimes the uSB ports on the front panel are not connected, mine aren't. If your not using the USB ports on the back try them.

Alternatively some cameras you have to select the way you connect depending on the software , if you can find it in the setup menu change the connection type or otherwise install the saoftware.

Tks for the various advice. I tried most of my computer's 6 USB ports (2 front and 4 back) but none of this resulted in any on-screen activity so methinks they're all knackered - I presume the same fault is affecting all of them. Anyways, I'll try Andy or WCC or giving it a good kick in the nuts.

Turds...! Turds! and turds again...I never was any good with computers. Despite having spent hours fiddling with lovely high rez pics these will have to do for now...The top turd is a bit old and crusty, found on the side of the path nr Dickstocks. The second a juicy, fresh example, found side of path in middle of Po Wah Yuen, ce matin.

Owl pellets or batshit?

By the way, did you know you dropped your key and ten bucks?

Centipede turd. It does look like frog turd but seems awfully big. Nice pics, by the way.

Yes, that key photo's so good and clear, it might be possible to make a copy of your key from it...

Oh, by the way, what's your home address?

Turd update....although I still find it hard to believe, frogs or toads remain chief suspects. Guy says these specimens are moreorless the same as his local frogs', and the HKU profs, though not 100% sure, also still reckon the amphibians are the most likely culprits. Centipedes? Nkarraker, you cannot be serious!!
