Do crocodiles have natural enemies?
Er ... Aside from humans with guns ... =)

Just watched NatGeo Wild this morning and this question came to my mind.

Crocs are at the top of the food chain, but apparently the number of freshwater crocodiles in Australia is being affected by the cane toad. Not sure if you could call this a 'natural enemy' as it is an introduced species whose poison is having a bad effect on the local fauna.

A bite from a hippo will hurt anything.

Hippo attacks a Crocodile

Hippos kill Croc

(But don't bring up the dwarf swallowing hoax .)

Young crocs are particularly vulnerable to most predators.

Burmese pythons released by negligent pet owners in Everglades National Park (Florida, US) are doing a number on the alligators. Many people have taken photos of pythons wrapped around the alligators' jaws. So I suspect pythons in their native range will take a crocodile when they have a chance.
