From my own experience, cherry tomatoes and salads do really well and grow up to harvest within 1-2 months almost anytime of the year. Basil, peppermint, herbs and similar are also easy to grow. Not so much luck yet with potatoes and fruit trees.... |

Thanks for that. I've noticed that runner/string beans seem to be grown by local farmers but I haven't seen where. These are the farmers who have one or two vegetables for sale in the mornings and make only a few dollars each time they set up their pitch. There's also a root vegetable which is quite grubby looking but I've no idea what it is yet. |
