Why is it when walking around Cheung Chau, alot of the paths are lined with well maintained gardens? Even the villages up on the hills have nice gardens! From what i have read it has something to do with the Lamma traditional land ownership system......Whoever owns or is in control, are they satisfied by what they see when walking in and around Yung Shue Wan? I'm hoping to get the ball rolling by HIGHLIGHTING some of the EYSORES that we see everyday!!! |

The 1st eyesore that could easily be cleaned up is right next to the 1st real estate agent when walking from the ferry....Just a load of boxes/steel containers etc. It look like this stuff belongs to the 1st seafood restaurant next to the island bar....This restaurant is also extending their dining area at present into the sea. How about cleaning up this eyesore at the same time! |

Have a look at the Stop the Mess! campaign and contact them directly: http://www.livinglamma.com/projects/stopthemess Several of these messes have been cleaned up already since this first report was compiled, by directly working with the owners, occupiers and/or the relevant govt. departments. |

When they see me pick up gooey crap, on the piers, or even in town, cardboards, newspapers, pocari sweats, etc etc etc. I should for people who litter lol. Litterbugs suck. But yeah, be the change you want to see. If you don't like the trashes that blight our paradise, help organize clean ups. (or do what I do, just flip out and do a blitz clean up). Or invent a crazy hook pole using simple stuff you can find at Wing Hung Co's or Luk Sai's store, (a coat hook a stick to see if you can't scoop up those junks by the pier rocks. Or HELP ME clean up the garden. ha ha ha. and always always remember a clean Island is a sign of a sick mind (variant of: A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind ha ha ha). Note, kids use sick as a positive word. Lol. |
