What kind of rooster could this be?

It's very shy, almost neurotically shy & flighty, endemic all over Hong Kong and seems to spawn from monkeys only, a result of inter-species breeding maybe, perhaps even a genetic manipulation?

Well Zep, you seem to be the main man.
Any idea what this little chap is?

Uncle Guy doesn't buy books, he gets them from acquaintances and then doesn't return them!
Where's my "HK Butterflies" book?

Since I won't win a bottle of vinegar anyway, I can be as condescending as I want to be, hah! :P

The grey and orange bird on the previous page is Turdus hortulorum - not the "common or garden turd" as the name suggests, but the grey-backed thrush (male). In spite of your modest comments, these are VERY hard to get a good view of, never mind photograph. They also hang around in the leaf litter. You can often hear a scratching in the leaves as they look for insects, but they don't exactly come out and pose.

Large file? 11 MB no less. I think I'll make a dozen copies and send them on to those Nigerian scamsters seeking help to dispose of a hundred million dollars, just to clog up their mailboxes.

It is a female Daurian redstart (Phoenicurus auroreus). The male is rather brighter with a silver neck and cap, black face and red underparts and tail, but the males are not so common. They are reasonably tame and come in in the winter from the north. A characteristic behaviour pattern is constantly wagging the tail up and down.[/i]

Guy, nice new Avatar, the fly on green background.

Very suitable for Uncle Guy the Bugman.

Or should we call you Guy-the-Fly now? Or simply Fly-Guy?

Ok, so this should make it easier, but only 10 points available.
Seems it may be a visitor from Siberia or Mongolia
