I meant to post this 3 weeks ago. But I have been most busy and I have not been feeling well lately.

Anyway, about a 100 metres after Yun Yun convenience store in the direction of the beach, on your left hand side you will notice a site with steel boards and construction materials. Behind this site is probably the largest and one of the few remaining wetlands in Yung Shue Wan.

Late at night you can hear the chirpy sounds of Romer Frogs. I live right next to the wetland. I couldn't sleep 3 weeks ago and I was up around 3am. I heard the chirpy sounds of Romer Frogs. At first I thought it was birds. But then I recalled someone posting the link to the sound of Romer Frogs. So I checked. It was the same kind of chirpy sound.

This particular piece of wetland supports a very diverse and interesting wildlife. There are many different species of birds feeding around here. I don't know much about birds. But I do know there are different kinds and they like my balcony and roof. On my roof I have a tree and just yesterday I found a small bird's nest. I saw a very small bird with grey body, black head, and a touch of white around its front neck. I only saw one. But I think there are two in the nest. I wouldn't be surprised if there are eggs too.

Don't worry! I have decided to give them the tree.

Anyway, I just want to say there are Romer Frogs there. I have been listening to their chirpy sounds for the last 3 weeks whenever I cannot sleep. It is one of the most playful and sweetest sounds I have ever heard.

Right behind the worksite is the wetland and you see lots of tall grass. My dogs used to run in there and they came out with black muddy feet. It's like a swamp. But as you go further in from the worksite, there are a few banana trees.

The tall grass can grow up to 8 to 10 ft high with seeds. There are at least 4 different kinds of birds feeding on the seeds. Sparrows. The small grey body black round head with white collar birds. The small grey body with black pointy head feather. The Mo Por Guay 'The Witch Chicken' big brown body with a black head. Sorry, I don't know the names of the birds.

Very late at night or very early in the mornign when it is all quiet, you can hear the chirpy sounds of the Romer Frogs. They sound like little birds singing and dancing, very playful. By the sound of it, I think there are alot of Romer Frogs.

After reading the article, this wetland seems like the ideal breeding ground for them.
