Bike Clearance at CPA -- Thursday 27 July 2017

On 25 July the goon squad stickered bikes at the CPA with warnings to f-off or else.
On 27 July at 10am the "or-else" happens-- all bikes at the CPA will be confiscated by the government and dumped/trashed/stolen.
Theoretically, bikes parked elsewhere, e.g. along the pier, will not be taken, but I wouldn't chance it myself.

Looks like they have a fair number of 'abandoned' bikes to drag kicking a screaming from their 'legal' abode

And the posts about this clearance flooded Facebook today:

Plus a video by Donna Foreman showing the "burial" into the Bike Graveyard of confiscated bikes up Cable Road, close to the windturbine:

Round 2:

On 10 August 2017 --Thursday -- YLF's minions will continue their bike-destruction programme.

Any bikes parked anywhere from the pier to the public toilets, but (apparently) not the CPA will be stolen by the government
This is a game of musical chairs. There aren't enough legal parking places, so they just keep confiscating parked bikes until they've culled enough. There are 296 parking places at the CPA, about 500 bikes parked around the pier area usually, so they need to destroy 40% of the bikes.

Notice they describe parked bikes as "abandoned". Because bicycles are not vehicles, are not personal property, and they are of course all "obstructing pedestrians", as if they were lying in the middle of the road and not locked to poles and railings out of the way.

If these bike thefts actually targeted really abandoned bikes or even ones carelessly parked in everyone's way, it would be less objectionable. But they just do a clean sweep and destroy any bike they find.

These 'F--KERS' don't give a toss about our environment, this is criminal and beyond crass - honestly Hong Kong is a joke on many occasions!
