TVB's <I>Pearl Report</I> is running a show on Thursday 16th at 8PM on on New Territories white elephant projects, and shot a segment a few weeks ago on Lamma about the enormous piers built at Luk Chau and Lo Tik. They also did a short bit on the <A href= "http://lammapaths.cjb.net/">proposed path between these villages</a>.

There's a a few pages on it at my <a href="http://lammapaths.cjb.net/">website</a> -- that was what got me started. Basically, they proposed to concrete the path that runs from near the end of cable road along the middle of the island. None of those villagers (all three of them) who were supposed to have demanded it knew anything about it, or would have walked along it a couple of hours to visit the other village. If they ever wanted to, they'd take a boat for about 5 minutes. It was so obviously a rort to use up the concrete budget that it was withdrawn after I put out an alert and over 50 objections were registered.
