Lam sees scope for Lantau development

A former executive councillor, Franklin Lam, says many social issues could be addressed through developing country parks on Lantau Island.

Me Lam, a member of an advisory committee set up in last month ’ s Policy Address by the chief executive, C Y Leung, said this included offering quality living space for some 400,000 people.

Mr Lam told a TVB current affairs programme that the government should be flexible when it comes to country park developments, while adding that he wanted to minimise any environmental impact.
