aardvark {L_WROTE}:
Lamma is supposed to be a place where people are aware of green issues, yet not a peep. I’m a bit surprised.

It is appalling: 2 huge green areas completely destroyed, now covered in concrete and toxins, no effort at re-planting, a new swamp to the left of the path at the farm, and the path at some points still doesn't drain!

Our taxes paid for this mess!

What the f*ck does our district councilor do all day?

I should act instead of just moaning, but like most of you I’m working to death, and have a new baby. Is there some caring soul out there who has a little time and can pursue this with the media and district council?
Cheers

Actually there was a huge drawn out resistance to the project long before work began on it and you can find the discussions in the archives of this site.

I agree that something needs to be done, but I feel it's time for direct action - a little guerrilla gardening! I have already seen one couple out planting trees in the area. Perhaps a little organised effort on the part of concerned local residents in the form of a Sunday afternoon work party and we could drastically improve the area!

Thanks Tavis I think that's a good idea, but I stil think the contractor and council should be held accountable for this mess
